Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney, born on 19 November 1959 in America is an American actor. Through a long career that spans more than three decades, she has become recognized for her work in diverse genres on screen and stage. Janney received nominations for two Tony Awards and has been presented with an Academy Award as well as an award from the British Academy Film Award. Born in Boston and was raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney earned a grant to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following she graduated from Kenyon College. Janney made her television debut in 1999 in the role of C. J. Cregg, a role she played in NBC's drama series The West Wing (2000-2006). In the course of her work, she won 4 Primetime Emmy Awards for this character. In 2014, she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in Drama Series due to her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex.
